SUNGLASSES CARE GUIDE

Learn how to care for your Loona sunglasses

How to Store Your Sunglasses

Storing wood sunglasses in a wood case or cloth bag is important to protect them from scratches, impacts, and moisture, ensuring their longevity and maintaining their pristine condition. Proper storage also helps preserve their unique aesthetic appeal and extends their lifespan, allowing you to enjoy them for years to come.

How to Clean Your Lenses

Cleaning lenses with our recycled cleaning cloth is not only a sustainable choice but also an effective way to remove smudges and dirt without causing scratches, keeping your sunglasses in top-notch condition while being environmentally friendly.

How to Clean Your Wooden Frames

Cleaning wood frames requires gentle care to maintain their natural beauty and prevent damage. Carefully wipe the wood frames with the damp cloth using warm water and small amount of dish soap, following the direction of the wood grain. After cleaning, use a dry cloth to wipe away any remaining moisture, ensuring the wood frames are completely dry. Refrain from using harsh chemicals, solvents, or abrasive cleaners, as they can harm the wood finish.

Protect and Shine Your Sunglasses

Applying oil or wax on wood sunglasses is essential for both protection and shiny appearance. Wood is susceptible to moisture damage, such as warping and swelling. Applying natural wood oil or beeswax creates a protective barrier that helps repel water and prevents moisture from penetrating the wood. Also, enhancing its natural beauty, and restoring the original polished look. Use a soft cloth to gently rub a small amount in the direction of the grain, ensuring even coverage and a renewed shine. Make sure that none of it gets on the lenses. Wipe off any excess oil on the frame, let it fully dry up.

What to Avoid

Keep your wood sunglasses out of the water as they are water-resistant, not waterproof, and remember to avoid overexposure to sunlight and extreme heat for optimal protection and longevity. Avoid leaving your wood sunglasses laying around on the dashboard.

How to Fix Bent Wooden Sunglass Frames and Temple

Eco-friendly wooden sunglasses and case, a chic and sustainable accessory for sunny days.

Step 1: Heat the Wood

To make the wood more pliable and easier to work with, you can use a hairdryer to warm the affected area. Be cautious not to overheat the wood, as excessive heat can lead to further damage.

Step 2: Gently Bend Back

Using your hands or a soft, clean cloth, gently and slowly bend the frame or temple back to its original shape. Apply gentle pressure, making sure not to force the wood to avoid breaking or snapping it. Use cold water or hold the glasses in the desired position for a short time in order to cool the frames after every bend.

Step 3: Use Clamps (Optional)

If the bending is more significant and difficult to fix by hand, you can use clamps to hold the wood in place while it cools down. Ensure the pressure from the clamps is even to avoid creating new deformities.

Step 4: Apply Natural Wood Oil

After fixing the bending, you can apply a small amount of natural wood oil or beeswax to the area, which may help strengthen the wood and hide any minor imperfections.

Preventative Measures

To avoid future bending, handle your wood sunglasses with care and store them in a sturdy case or cloth bag when not in use. Also, refrain from placing them in high temperature areas, like the car dashboard. By following these steps and exercising caution, you can potentially fix minor bends in wood sunglasses frames and temples, restoring their original shape and preserving their unique style.
